Position Description

CGI has an immediate need for a Jr. Full Stack Java/AWS Developer with 2 -4 years of experience to join our financial services team in Herndon, VA. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the largest leaders in the secondary mortgage industry. In this role, you will be part of a production support team that provides application support to enterprise level applications. Trouble shooting Incidents, working on service requests and coordinating with different teams to implement solutions will be major part of the role.

Your future duties and responsibilities

In this role, you will perform analysis, design, development, and perform unit testing. You will resolve defects and perform configuration repository administration activities including stream and directory creation, source code archiving, etc.
• Provide Production applicationon support for one or more enterprise level applications
• Respond to Production support calls and Service Requests for applications in production in order to make quick repair to keep application in production.
• Triage Issues and provide solutions, coordinate with various support groups for resolution
• Develop and maintain SME knowledge on applications
• Work on Ad-hoc requests for queries / reports
• Perform Root cause Analysis on Incidents and recommend/ implement solution
• Document Root Cause Analysis and also maintain/produce documents as per prescribed methodologies
• Perform Impact analysis on changes and recommend / make changes to production
• Participate in all Agile ceremonies including planning, grooming, product demonstration and team retrospectives.
• Escalate unresolved issues to proper personnel
• Provide UAT and SIT support as necessary
• Perform all work under production support SLA's as applicable
• Ensure application stability and health by incorporating process improvements and implementing long term solutions
• Part of a team working on a rotation schedule under 24x7 support model

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

• 2-4 years of IT experience required.
• Experience in providing support for Java, Oracle, or custom applications on a UNIX platform
• Experience with creating and consuming both SOAP-based and RESTful Web Services
• Experience working with core Java APIs
• Experience with configuring and deploying software on WebLogic and/or JBOSS
• Experience working in an Agile Environment
• Experience in Oracle from a Java development standpoint
• Ability to write batch or standalone jobs
• Experience in Unix scripting is required
• Experience in DB/SQL is required
• Strong Analytical skills, Problem solving skills and ability to debug the application code issues and provide solutions to production issues
• AWS application maintenance experience with with knowledge of EC2, S3 Bucket, Lamda , other common functions
• Very good communication skills

Desired qualifications
• Experience with AutoSys is a preferred

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required
Post graduate degree desired
