DESCRIPTION Job summary
Would you like to implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve the world's most complex technical problems? Do you have a deep passion and desire to engineer and operate the world's largest cloud computing infrastructure to build a better world for future generations? This is an exciting opportunity to use the latest cloud computing technologies to help U.S. Government agencies implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems. AWS established a specialized group of service teams responsible for the work we are doing with the U.S. Intelligence Community. We are building some of the largest and most complex distributed systems in the world, and we need adaptable people to help us implement and operate them. The AWS Intelligence team is seeking highly motivated engineers who are focused on operational excellence and troubleshooting complex system operations, have a good understanding of Linux, networking and general knowledge of cloud services. We need engineers who understand how to think big, and simplify solutions to complex problems; all the while ensuring that our customers continue to have the best experience possible. On a "typical" day, our engineers may dive deep to find the root cause of a customer issue, investigate why a metric is trending in the wrong direction, or discuss radical new approaches to automate operational processes. As a member of our team you will join a dedicated group of engineers who provide troubleshooting and operations support, and innovate to automate operational tasks. In this role, you are able to take a defined set of tasks and execute it on schedule. You identify ineffective processes. You may identify when technical implementations have defects or are not highly available, performant, or maintainable. You understand operational risk and avoid taking unnecessary risks. You identify operational concerns and resolve, mitigate, or escalate the concerns in a timely manner. This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. citizen and must currently possess an active Top Secret security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph and satisfy other security related requirements. Here at AWS, we embrace our differences. We are committed to furthering our culture of inclusion. We have ten employee-led affinity groups, reaching 40,000 employees in over 190 chapters globally. We have innovative benefit offerings, and we host annual and ongoing learning experiences, including our Conversations on Race and Ethnicity (CORE) and AmazeCon (gender diversity) conferences. Amazon's culture of inclusion is reinforced within our 14 Leadership Principles, which remind team members to seek diverse perspectives, learn and be curious, and earn trust. We are committed to supporting our new team members through a broad mix of Amazon experience, expertise, and tenures. We celebrate knowledge, sharing, and mentorship. The role can be based in Seattle, WA, Herndon, VA or Arlington, VA. Arlington, VA: This role will sit in our new headquarters in Northern Virginia, where Amazon will invest $2.5 billion dollars, occupy 4 million square feet of energy efficient office space, and create at least 25,000 new full-time jobs. Our employees and the neighboring community will also benefit from the associated investments from the Commonwealth including infrastructure updates, public transportation improvements, and new access to Reagan National Airport.
By working together on behalf of our customers, we are building the future one innovative product, service, and idea at a time. Are you ready to embrace the challenge? Come build the future with us. Denver, CO: The total compensation minimum for this role is: $137,500. Total compensation includes base pay, and may include a sign-on bonus and restricted stock units as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
